- The University of North Texas Center for Human Identification (UNTCHI) is an accredited forensic laboratory located in Fort Worth, Texas. Using grant funding from the National Institute of Justice, UNTCHI provides the following services related to missing and unidentified person investigations: Autosomal STR testing, Y STR (Y chromosome) testing, Mitochondrial DNA testing. All DNA profiles for missing and unidentified persons are uploaded to the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) for searching and comparison (http://www.untfsu.com).
